Welcome to Fortay Reeds

Founded in September 2004, Fortay Reeds comprises a team of 2 professional oboists and teachers, Stephen Forbes & Lara Taylor, each with 20 years experience manufacturing oboe reeds independently.

Fortay Oboe Reeds have built a reputation for producing some of the finest oboe reeds, available exclusively from TW Howarth of London and Wrights Music Shop, New Milton.

All Fortay reeds are hand-crafted and we pride ourselves on quality and consistency. They are played nationwide by students and amateurs alike and even some professional oboists. Several leading professional players recommend Fortay oboe reeds for their pupils.
